When I was housebound with three young children, I found myself living inside that exact contradiction.
I loved being a mother. Unconditionally, with everything I had. And at the same time, I was lost. I had slowly disappeared into the role, and I didn't know how to ask for help.
So I started drawing. Quietly. Dot by dot.
It sounds small, but for me it changed everything. Creating gave me permission, to call a babysitter, to ask for an hour, to take up a little space for myself without guilt. And somewhere in the slow, meditative rhythm of the stippling technique, I found my way back to myself.
These prints were born from that place. For the mother who is giving everything, who loves this season fiercely, and who also knows she deserves space too. Beautiful, intentional space.

Stippling is a drawing technique that builds an image from thousands of small dots, placed one at a time with a fine-line pen. It's slow and meditative, and it's the technique founder Kirst Herbert turned to during early motherhood.

The default is a natural wood box frame with museum-grade plexiglass (lighter and more durable than glass, and safer to ship). Black and white frames are available on request - email hello@kirstherbert.com.
Unframed prints are printed and ready to ship in about 3 days. Framed prints take up to 3 weeks from order to shipping, since each one is framed to order after printing.
